The Herbal Hour: Come to Your Senses
Available spots.
You’re invited to a blind date with a plant. True learning happens when we enjoy the process, when we are playful, when we engage our senses and not solely our intellect. It’s is more important and useful to know a few herbs intimately than know a hundred superficially. During these herbal dates, we will meet and get to know an herb ( or two) deeply by doing just that. We’ll smell, taste, touch and observe. We’ll engage our creative side and jot down our first impressions with words, drawings, a poem or whatever form of expression calls to us in that moment. We’ll also learn about the traditional use, cultivation and current scientific studies regarding our new plant friend. This will be a recurring event, during which we will work on creating an herbal journal by adding new herbs each time. Bring your favorite pen or pencil, colored markers or paint brush and a empty notebook. We’ll provide the herbs to experience as a tea or a tasty bite. We’ll keep our exploration as seasonal as possible. INSTRUCTOR: Bernadett Szabo lives in Pataskala, OH on a small herb, flower, and vegetable farm. She was born in Hungary where she spent summers in her grandmother’s gardens. She follows deep organic practices with some biodynamic principles on her homestead. Her business is Bernadett's Farmacy (with a focus on supporting women through the years of menopause transition with herbs, food, lifestyle changes, movement); follow her at www.bernadettfarmacy.com.
