This workshop focuses on plumbing in the home: how to maintain your house and how to expand on what you already have. This hands-on workshop has a strong emphasis on safety and will cover: - Building an understanding of how your plumbing system works - Learning techniques such as soldering and Sharkbites to repair your copper pipes - Understanding the importance of correct ventilation - Taking apart a toilet tank and different types of faucets to build a better foundation for troubleshooting Each workshop begins with an introduction to hand and power tools, and you'll go home with plenty of resources to help further your electrical understanding! The goal of this workshop is to build a comfort level with the systems in your own home and to help you make informed decisions when talking with a contractor. All skill levels are encouraged. In light of COVID-19, please bring a face mask to class. Class is strictly limited to 10 students. Our construction classes fill quickly; please register ASAP to avoid disappointment! INSTRUCTORS: This class is taught by industry professionals, and offered through Central Ohio Women in the Trades. COWIT is a nonprofit organization focused on the education, recruitment, and retention of women within the various trade unions around central Ohio. >> NOTE: If you have a small group interested in *any* of our construction classes, we can arrange a special class for 6+ attendees!
