Labyrinth Workshop (collaboration with Cooke Rd Urban Farm)

Have you ever walked a labyrinth? Or wondered what a labyrinth is? Or thought about a labyrinth in your yard? If so, this workshop is for you! This workshop offers the history of labyrinths, the purpose of labyrinths, and brings together a labyrinth facilitator and a person who “created” a labyrinth in her backyard. Learn how to apply and create a labyrinth to be used by you whenever you want. Let’s talk about labyrinths and then walk one outdoors! NOTE: This workshop is held at the Cooke Road Urban Farm, 1271 E. Cooke Road. It is ACROSS THE STREET from the Columbus Garden School. Please park over there! INSTRUCTORS: JOY LAWRENCE, labyrinth facilitator, LMT and Yoga instructor. She is a graduate of Samyoga with 500 hours of teacher training, and a graduate of the Int'l University of Yoga & Ayurveda. Joy found that facilitating labyrinth walks at Shepherd's Corner for 16 years helped deepen her understanding of meditation and the importance of connecting with Nature. She enjoys sharing mindfulness techniques to find the stillness that can be reached within all of us. JANEEN SANDS is Tisa’s neighbor and co-developer of Cooke Road Urban Farm. She is a retired teacher fascinated by home energy efficiency, solar photovoltaics, gardening, and Nature! After retiring, Janeen had a Croning - a celebration acknowledging my “oldness”. Around that same time my brother developed serious heath issues and came to live with me. In the process of caring for him, I recognized my need to be grounded. It is through the necessity of taking care of myself that I became interested in labyrinths and created one in my backyard.
