Grow Great GARLIC! (ONLINE w/ Bernadett)
Available spots.
Fall is not just about pumpkin spice and reuniting with your favorite sweater. In Ohio it is the time to plant garlic, one of the most essential crops, kitchen herbs, and medicine. Yes, there is more to it than plugging some cloves in a corner of your garden. In this ONLINE workshop, we’ll cover the whole process, from selecting seed garlic to preparing your soil, harvesting, curing, storing, and using your own DELICIOUS garlic. Since this workshop is presented by an herbalist/grower, we will also talk about garlic as food medicine and ways to get most of its many benefits. INSTRUCTOR: Bernadett Szabo lives in Pataskala, OH on a small herb, flower and vegetable farm. She was born in Hungary where she spent summers in her grandmother’s gardens, participating in the care, and most enthusiastically in the harvest of all fruits, berries, flowers, and veggies. Once in Ohio, Bernadett joined OEFFA to deepen her knowledge of growing food and medicinal crops. She follows deep organic practices with some biodynamic principles on her homestead. Bernadett began studying and practicing herbalism with Rosemary Gladstar, one of the best and most well-known teachers in the U.S., and with other herbalists such as Erika Galentin (Sovereignty Herbs), Katja Swift and Ryn Midura (Commonwealth Herbal), and Sajah Popham (The School of Evolutionary Herbalism). She recently completed an herbal intensive course with herbalist Jim McDonald.
