Each year, we grow native tall-grass prairie plants to help you build your Ohio pollinator habitat. Our plants are healthy and vigorous, and you won't find a better price! And each year that you shop the CGS plant sale, your own garden grows in biodiversity and beauty.
Pale Purple Coneflower (Echinacea pallida) 36”H. This coneflower has pale purple to pink flowers, and blooms in early summer – allowing it to SHINE before the full abundance of summer hits. Dislikes soggy areas but tolerates drought once established. Prefers full sun. Blooms June/July.
Prairie Pussytoes (Antennaria neglecta) 4” H. Spreading by stolons, the flowers may reach a foot in height but the leaves provide a good ground cover for dry areas such as rock gardens. The late spring flowers look like tiny cat's feet! Blooms April/May/June.
Wild Petunia (Ruella humilis) 12”H. Native to much of the eastern US., Ruella blooms throughout the hottest, driest times of the summer. It is a hardy species, handling most conditions you could throw at it except swampy soils and shade. Great groundcover. Blooms June/July/August.
$6 per healthy, well-rooted plant.
