Each year, we grow native tall-grass prairie plants to help you build your Ohio pollinator habitat. Our plants are healthy and vigorous, and you won't find a better price! And each year that you shop the CGS plant sale, your own garden grows in biodiversity and beauty.

  • Anise Hyssop ( Agastache foeniculum) 36”H. Purple blossoms pop open in intervals, providing a long nectar season for bumblebees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. It smells like anise or licorice. Once established, Anise Hyssop is drought tolerant and deer resistant. Blooms June through September.

  • Echinacea purpurea (Purple Coneflower) to 48"H. This plant has it all: adaptability to sun and soil, deer-resistance, bee-and-butterfly magnet, and COLOR. And when she’s happy in her spot, she’s HAPPY. Blooms July/Aug/Sept.

  • Mad-Dog Skullcap (Scutellaria lateriflora) to 24”H. A mint-family perennial with small, trumpet-shaped flowers ranging from pale blue to lavender or even white. Thrives in full sun to part-SHADE and moist soil. Unattractive to deer and rabbits! Blooms July/Aug/Sept.

  • Shrubby St. John's Wort (Hypericum prolificum) to 48”H. An absolute bee magnet that is not picky about its sun and soil needs. Deer- and rabbit-resistant. This shrub will naturally form a round-bush appearance but can be pruned early spring for a more mounded shape. Blooms July/Aug/Sept.

  • Wild Quinine (Parthenium integrifolium) 48”H. Typically found in dry areas of prairies and open woods, the white, cauliflower-looking flowers attract bees, wasps, flies, and beetles. Grows best in full sun. A great plant for a mixed bed, you’ll find plenty of it at CGS! Blooms June through September.
