Come spend four delightful hours, dyeing silk, felt, cotton, and linen with a rainbow of colors from flowers, leaves, and insects. This in-person class explores color, experimentation, and joy as we harvest from the garden, learn about mordants (how to fix the color for longer), and create one-of-a-kind pieces to wear and make with. We will work with reds from madder and cochineal, blues from indigo (we will learn how to make a vat dye), and all the other yellows, greens, and tans from flowers we pick. Each person will receive a variety of silks and cotton items to dye. Bring your own cotton and linen (pre-washed) for the indigo pot and once the class projects have been completed we will dye the extra stuff! Class limit 12 students; minimum 8 registrations needed to hold class. Invite your friends and family to join the fun! Sign up as soon as possible as spots are limited. If you miss out this time we are sure to do it again next year :) Please reach out to celiakahle@gmail.com if you have questions. INSTRUCTOR: Celia Kahle is the owner/founder of Firefly Garden Design and is committed to anti-capitalistic garden design and landscaping. She also teaches a variety of workshops on healing, meditation, and traditional folk arts. Learn more at www.fireflygardendesigns.com and on Instagram at @fireflygardendesign.
