** NOTE: This class (on 3/29/25) will be open for individual registration on 2/8/25. Before then, registration priority is given to students signing up for the 3-class herbalism series. Please see explanation below. ** Tincture or infusion? Salve or lotion? What is the difference between a decoction and an infusion? In this workshop we will shine a light on different herbal preparations and see which one is more appropriate for certain situations. We will blend and taste infusions and learn to notice and take notes on our experiences. We will learn to prepare a basic salve to take home. We will learn how to make a basic tincture and learn ways to work with it. Handouts provide additional information and recipes to make your own herbal preparations at home. In this HANDS-ON class you will find some answers to your herbalism questions, and you will gain clarity about the next steps you may want to take on the herbal path. Class takes place at CGS and is limited to 12 students. Materials fee $15 + $25 class fee = $40 ** Tinctures & Salves is the second part of a 3-class SERIES that introduces participants to Western herbalism and provides participants with basic understanding and tools to deal with common imbalances we all encounter in our lives. See our companion classes, Family Herbalist (3/1/25), and Garden Like An Herbalist (4/26/25), for more information. BONUS: Register for all 3 classes on the FAMILY HERBALIST PAGE and receive a $15 series discount! (Please NOTE that each class has a different price based on herbal materials used in that class. Discount only applies to purchase of entire series.) Registration priority is given to students signing up for the 3-class series until Feb. 8; after this date, students may sign up for individual classes if still available.
