Herbal Cold Care First Aid
Available spots.
No matter how careful we are and take care of ourselves the best we can, we still get sick sometimes. There are a few times each year when we are more prone to pick up pesky germs. In the winter, we we get less sunshine (less vitamin D) and fresh air since we spend most of our time in closed spaces. The sugar high coming off the holiday season places another strain on our immune system. Although the best strategy is prevention, preparing for days spent in bed with a box of tissues by our side is still a good idea. In this class, we will talk about what to do when the cold or flu knocks us down. We will put together an herbal tool kit so it's ready when we need it. Sore throat? Sinus trouble? Fever? Cough? We'll match it all with the best herbs and preparations. Participants take home with a mix of herbs for steaming, a throat spray, a tea blend, and some delicious lozenges, along with the recipes for each item. Class fee includes $15 materials fee and handouts. INSTRUCTOR: Bernadett Szabo lives in Pataskala, OH on a small herb, flower, and vegetable farm. She was born in Hungary where she spent summers in her grandmother’s gardens. She follows deep organic practices with some biodynamic principles on her homestead. Her business is Bernadett's Farmacy (with a focus on supporting women through the years of menopause transition with herbs, food, lifestyle changes, movement); follow her at www.bernadettfarmacy.com.
