Gelli Printmaking with Nature

Starts Jun 28
45 US dollars
East Cooke Road

Available spots.

Come join us in making Gelli prints! Gel printing plates provide an opportunity to experiment with various textures, colors, and layering techniques, resulting in beautiful monoprints that can be framed, used in card-making, or transformed in other projects. The process is simple and encourages playfulness. We will be bringing nature into our technique by using stray items from our yards and gardens, even putting pesky invasives to use! Each participant will be able to make multiple prints and be guided through the process step-by-step. Class size is limited to 10 students, and we'll meet in the classroom at the Columbus Garden School. Wear clothing you don't mind getting messy in. Children ages 10+ may participate if accompanied by a guardian. (Paid registration is required for all participants.) Class fee $45 ($35 class + $10 materials fee). INSTRUCTOR: Timberlee Harris is an artist and board-certified art therapist in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2007 with a BFA in Illustration, she received her MA in Art Therapy and has since been working with populations such as geriatrics, bereavement, and oncology. Whether creating art within a therapeutic or educational setting, she believes that the creative process can be a powerful vehicle for insight, meaning-making, and personal growth.
