Paper beads are a fun and creative way to upcycle magazines into something that is both functional and meaningful. In this class, you will learn how to turn a piece of colorful paper into a piece of unique jewelry or a keychain, gaining the knowledge necessary to easily repeat the process at home if desired. No artistic skills are necessary, as you will be guided through the bead-making process step-by-step in a way that encourages play, connection, and relaxation. All materials will be supplied by instructor. Just come to class and spend a relaxing couple of hours making something beautiful to take home! Class size is limited to 10 students, and we'll meet in the classroom at the Columbus Garden School. (In light of COVID, face masks may be required when we're indoors.) INSTRUCTOR: Timberlee Harris is an artist and board-certified art therapist in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 2007 with a BFA in Illustration, she received her MA in Art Therapy and has since been working with populations such as geriatrics, bereavement, and oncology. Whether creating art within a therapeutic or educational setting, she believes that the creative process can be a powerful vehicle for insight, meaning-making, and personal growth.
