Aspiring, beginner, and even veteran beekeepers are all welcome to join Dave Noble of Red Beard Bees for these informal, monthly classes at The Columbus Garden School’s educational apiary. Each month the topic will follow what is happening in the hives at that time. Your questions are always welcome. You are sure to pick up some new nugget of knowledge, or at least a new perspective, that you will be able to take home and apply to your own bees and beekeeping. Dress to be in the bees! Do NOT bring your hive tool or smoker (those will be provided). The Columbus Garden School is located at 1350 E. Cooke Road, Columbus OH 43224. We'll meet in the parking lot. A minimum of 5 students is required to hold this event. Invite a friend to join the class! INSTRUCTOR: Dave Noble began his professional beekeeping career at OSU's Honey Bee Research Lab in the mid-1990’s. More recently, he spent 7 years as the staff apiarist at Stratford Ecological Center in Delaware, OH. During his tenure there, Dave developed wildly popular beekeeper training programs for both novice and veteran beekeepers. Currently, Dave operates Red Beard Bees where he continues to develop, refine, and teach his beekeeper training programs and presentations across Ohio and the nation. Dave employs a bee-centered philosophy to guide his beekeeping, bee-breeding, and educational endeavors. He believes that a better understanding of bee behavior and bee biology creates better beekeepers. “Listen to the bees and let them guide you.” -- Brother Adam
